Burwell claimed self-defence (Ekyn allegedly attacked him with a pitchfork) so Burwell was eventually pardoned by Richard II on Feb.12, 1396. The pardon is in the Calendar of Patent Rolls 1391-1396 p.666. I have no home village to recall, no heritage of my own.
