Halifax details





And, not a small detail at all, the surprising scale of the Piece Hall (originally for the sale of cloth) which rivals any major Italian piazza:

As simple as that I think - although I suppose there might be deep symbolism which is lost on me: a bird pushing its young along in a wheelbarrow. It is a medieval piece from a window at Shibden Hall just outside Halifax itself.
